Non-financial support is central to the value proposition of social finance providers: alongside the financial resources they provide, they are much sought after as competent advisors and watchful partners when it comes to combining sound business development with sustained social mission and impact.

Non-financial support is key for social finance provider, both as a risk and impact performance management tool.

The workshop will focus on non-financial support during pre and mostly post investment phase, as an essential practice within social finance. Participants will learn and share approaches, processes, tools and case studies, as a social investor and/or as a social enterprise support organization, in order to improve impact portfolio management practice.

Speakers

Clémentine Blazy works at the European Center for Social Finance, which delivers EaSI Technical Assistance services on behalf of the European Commission. With a background in consulting and over 15 years in social finance (mostly at France active where she led the investment activity for the national entity), she has experience both as board member of social enterprises and investor within different investment committees. The growing involvement of philanthropy in social finance is of particular interest to her.

Anne Gerset is investment director of the makesense Seed I fund, an 8M€ fund supporting pre-seed and seed French social start-ups.  Previously, as part of her 2 decades of experience within ENGIE groupe, she led the development of the ENGIE Rassembleurs d’Energies fund in Latin America, after an international journey which took her from marketing & sales, to portfolio management & trading, before embracing impact investment.

Johann Heep supports the development of social banking activities within Erste Bank Group across 7 Central and Eastern European markets and assesses the impact. He has contributed to several financial inclusion projects in the field of micro-finance and social enterprise finance, invests ERSTE Foundation funds to enhance clients’ business capacities, is developing social impact bonds and manages quasi equity instruments rolled out by Erste Social Finance Holding in at least 5 out of the 7 CEE markets of Erste Group.
